We currently have more than $6 billion of engineering infrastructure consisting of water and wastewater assets throughout South Australia including pipelines, pumping stations, treatment plants, reservoirs and tanks.
Over a number of years we have developed a suite of Technical Standards and Technical Guidelines to assist in the design, development, maintenance and management of our infrastructure.
Definition
Technical Standards
Technical Standards are intended to form part of contract documentation for the construction of SA Water assets and they are therefore specific and contractually binding. It is intended that these standards form part of the construction contract documentation.
The standards are under continual revision with a review every two years.
Technical Guidelines
Guidelines have been produced to inform the designer of SA Water’s philosophies, practices and issues that must be considered in the design process.
The guidelines cover the design of particular types of infrastructure such as pumping stations as well as systems (such as electrical) that are applicable to all infrastructure types.
The guidelines are under continual revision with a review every two years.
Note: Given that both the Technical Standards (TS) and Technical Guidelines (TG) are under continual review, it is the responsibility of the designer to ensure they reference the latest TS and/or TG release when engaged on a SA Water project.
