Each year we plant more than 20,000 seedlings through our program of environmental revegetation.
The young natives are planted at many SA Water sites including reservoirs, holding tanks and pumping stations which cover some 20,000 hectares of land.
SA Water’s Bulk Water Division runs three nurseries where locally collected seed is propagated for use in revegetation projects across the State. As well as planting individual seedlings direct seeding techniques are also used for broad scale revegetation initiatives.
We also work with groups such as Trees for Life to clear exotic (non-native) species which have invaded land from adjacent properties.
