From 1 February 2008, farms or properties in water districts and country lands water districts (listed from a link below) must not use water supplied by the SA Water Corporation for irrigation in the course of a business of primary production except under authority of a permit issued by SA Water pursuant to the Waterworks Regulations 1996.
This restriction does not apply to the use of recycled water.
This notice of restriction applies in addition and without limitation to any other notice of restriction in force from time to time.
Property owners using water from SA Water’s system for irrigation purposes will be required to apply for a permit to allow them to continue this activity. In assessing any permit application, we will look at the applicant’s average annual water use and take into account any homes or stock watering on the property. A restriction will then be applied to the remaining annual quantity of water starting from the next meter reading.
