What is happening at the Adelaide desalination project?

First Reverse Osmosis building (50 GL per annum) - approximately 600 ML of water has been produced from the first Reverse Osmosis building and supplied to the SA Water network. The final stage of commissioning testing is underway to enable this plant to operate at the full flow of 150ML/Day in the coming weeks.

Second Reverse Osmosis building (50 GL per annum) - In the coming months the second Reverse Osmosis building will be energised in preparation for commencement of the commissioning phase of works.

Auxiliary Buildings – the majority are now operational and supporting the production of water from the first 50 Reverse Osmosis building.

Civil works - 90% of the landscaping area is now mulched and extensive landscaping has been completed, including along the eastern frontage of the construction site, and on the permanent mound.

The plant’s main internal access roads are now sealed with asphalt, and asphalt is progressively being delivered to site as the areas surrounding the plant and auxillary Buildings are being sealed.

Commissioning - Commissioning of the Energy Recovery system has commenced - this system transfers the energy captured from the outfall of saline concentrate and transfers the energy back into the plant.
