Milang to Clayton Pipeline

A $5 million pipeline has been constructed from Milang to Clayton to replace extraction from Lake Alexandrina. The 12 kilometre pipeline was completed in December 2007 and replaced the lake extraction and aquifer storage and reuse treatment system. It connects into the existing pipe network for distribution by the Alexandrina Council.

The project also presented opportunities to connect from the new pipeline including private water supply companies servicing new residential land developments and individual property owners (many with independent pumping water supply arrangements in the area of Old Clayton). Following a detailed community engagement process, construction of an extension to the Milang to Clayton pipeline is scheduled to start in October 2008 and is expected to be complete in December 2008.
