Mount Gambier has a population of approximately 25,000 people, a majority of who receive water sourced from the Blue Lake. SA Health has requested that SA Water fluoridate water supplied to Mount Gambier. In order for this to occur, we are constructing a fluoridation plant near the existing Blue Lake pump station.
Construction works on the fluoridation plant started in November 2009 and we anticipate our customers will start receiving a fluoridated water supply by mid-2010. The community will be notified of the project’s completion prior to the delivery of fluoridated water, via post.
