The E&WS/SA Water Thebarton site was used as a depot and office space since 1879. In December 2006 South Australian Premier Mike Rann announced the SA Water Thebarton Depot on James Condon Drive would be returned to park lands once staff had moved to new SA Water headquarters on Victoria Square. Upon completion of the site’s remediation, development of an urban forest will begin. The urban forest works are being managed by the Department of Premier and Cabinet and once completed, the site will be transferred as park lands to the Adelaide City Council. The Department of Premier and Cabinet have engaged Fifth Creek to design of the Urban Forest.
