SA Water’s Country Water Quality Improvement Program demonstrates an ongoing commitment to providing high quality water to South Australians living in rural and remote communities. Our aim is to provide country customers with access to the same standard of drinking water as those living in urban areas.
We have completed Stage 3 of the country water quality improvement program which is delivering filtered water to a number of communities that were previously supplied with chlorinated unfiltered River Murray water.
As part of Stage 3, nine new water treatment plants and 6 pipelines were constructed. This will enable the following communities to be provided with filtered water: Kanmantoo, Callington, Mypolonga, Pompoota, Wall Flat, Cowirra - Neeta, Palmer, Mannum Country Lands, Tungkillo, Swan Reach, Blanchetown, Cadell, Kingston on Murray, Moorook, Glossop and Monash. Cooltong and the Moorook Country Lands were added to this list as an extension to Stage 3.
SA Water plans to have all communities receiving filtered water in early 2008. For further information please click on the links below to access project information sheets.
