Step 1
Start by downloading and printing the Application to Discharge Trade Waste form. The business that will generate the trade waste discharge will need to fill in the form. If you are not the property owner, you will need to arrange with your property owner regarding responsibility for plumbing and drainage works and other property management matters.
Step 2
Please look at our Trade Waste Guidelines and Fact Sheets. They contain specific information about our requirements for a range of business activities, which will help you when completing your application.
Phone us on (08) 7424 1336 if you need our help to complete the form. We can provide general advice about meeting your trade waste obligations, but will not give specific product or supplier recommendations.
For complex or large industrial operations, we recommend that you contact us early in your planning process to discuss your proposal.
If you are installing or changing any fixtures (sinks, floor waste drains, grease trap etc) you may need to engage a plumber or consultant to help with your system design. Look in the Yellow Pages under Plumbers and Gasfitters, or Plumbing Consultants. Our Land Development and Connections Branch can assist you with your building plan application, water and wastewater connections, and other plumbing and drainage matters.
Step 3
View our current fees and charges information. Submit your application form along with any accompanying information and the appropriate fee. You can make credit card payments by calling (08) 7424 1336.

You can then arrange installation of any pre-treatment fixtures or plumbing modifications that are required. A licensed plumber must do all of these works. Then take any other actions to ensure you can meet your Permit conditions before commencing discharge to sewer.
We will audit your business to confirm that all is correct and advise you on the best way to meet your ongoing permit conditions.
