Dial Before You Dig is a referral service for information on locating underground utilities anywhere in Australia. Utilities locators, underground utilities locating companies, excavators, electricians, plumbers, planners, developers, farmers, land surveyors, builders contractors, home owners and landscapers all over the country can take advantage of this convenient referral service.
No matter the size of your project, you can be doing landscaping in your backyard or heavy work such as directional boring or directional drilling. Advise Dial Before You Dig when and where you plan to dig. This information is forwarded to the relevant underground utility owners who will respond directly to you with the cable and pipe location information.
Dial Before You Dig provides plans for most underground services including SA Water, Telstra, ETSA Utilities, Boral, Optus and EpicEnergy. Plans are usually free of charge, but some utilities may charge a fee. Dial Before You Dig will notify you if this is the case. Most utilities will provide plans within two working days.

Why should I contact the Dial Before You Dig service?
If you are found negligent by causing damage to a utility's underground services you may face fines. If you damage a pipe you could cause inconvenience, financial losses and disruption to the rest of the community. You may even be placing your life or the life of others in danger.
How do I obtain internal wastewater drainage plans?
Plumbing contractors are required to supply SA Water with the internal wastewater drainage layout of a property after the time of construction. Copies of these internal wastewater drainage plans can be provided to you by SA Water.
If you require a copy of the internal wastewater drainage plans for a property, copies are available free of charge by contacting SA Water on 1300 884 037 between 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Information on the location of SA Water's wastewater connection point is available by phone free of charge. These connection points are covered by a metal casting and are used by SA Water and plumbing contractors to provide access to clear wastewater mains or internal wastewater drains should they become blocked.

Can I obtain a copy of the internal water pipe layout plans?
Water pipe layout plans are not recorded by plumbing contractors as a consequence no records are kept.
