Land Development Applications
When a developer creates new housing allotments through a land development application, SA Water determines the requirements for providing water and sewer services. For further information on SA Water’s assessment process for land development applications please call (08) 7424 1119.
Developer Agreements
In general, developer agreements relate to major land development applications. SA Water will provide written advice on land development applications requiring extension of either water or wastewater mains. Building Plans
If you are going to carry out any building work - be it construction of a new house, home extensions or erecting a shed or carport - you must provide SA Water with a building plan at least 14 days prior to work commencing.
Approvals are given subject to conditions and will be provided within 10 working days of SA Water receiving the plan. If you require building plan approval please use this link and forward any completed applications to SA Water.
Encroachment over Easements
If you are planning to carry out any building/landscaping work on a property that contains an SA Water Easement, you will need to refer to the Encroachment over Easements Fact Sheet.
Details of existing easments are shown on the property Certificate of Title (available for a fee from www.propertyassist.sa.gov.au)
