The South East region incorporates South Australia's largest regional city, Mount Gambier - located near the Victorian border. It also includes the Limestone Coast and Murray Mallee area south of Tailem Bend.
The Tailem Bend Keith pipeline supplies the upper area of this region with water - the remainder is served mostly from underground water supplies.
This highlights of this diverse region includes ecotourism attractions like the Blue Lake at Mount Gambier, world heritage listed caves at Naracoorte, wine and pine producing regions of the Limestone Coast and Coonawarra and the dry land farming districts of the Upper South East and Murray Mallee areas.
With depots at Bordertown, Coonalpyn, Kingston, Millicent, Mount Gambier and Naracoorte - SA Water employs approximately 45 people in the South East region.
