The Eyre region is the second largest of SA Water’s four regions, covering the entire area of Eyre Peninsula.
One of the most diverse regions of South Australia, Eyre includes major regional cities such as Port Lincoln and the vast grain growing belts across the peninsula.
This region is also known for a rapidly expanding aquaculture industry, some of the most spectacular coastlines in Australia and a burgeoning tourist industry catering for those people with an adventurous spirit who want to “get away from it all”.
SA Water has depots placed across the region in Ceduna, Cleve, Cummins, Kimba, Lock, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay and Wudinna.
The majority of the water for this region comes from underground basins in the Lower Eyre Peninsula region - supplemented by other minor underground sources at Coffin Bay, Elliston, Polda and Streaky Bay.
A pipeline commissioned in June 2007 now delivers treated River Murray water to SA Water customers between Kimba and Lock. For more information visit the Eyre Peninsula Pipeline Project.
