Most gardens have some hard surfaces - such as paving and concrete - used for driveways, patios or entertaining areas.
Always use a hard broom to sweep down outside paved or concreted areas. Never hose them down. Collect the leaves and dirt to use as mulch or compost.
South Australia’s level 3 water restrictions and permanent water conservation measures prohibit the hosing down of external paved areas with water at any time unless it is absolutely necessary to do so:
-
To protect public health; or
-
To ensure the safety of people using the area; or
-
To ensure the health and welfare of animals using the area; or
-
To deal with fire, accident or other emergency.
