The General Managers at SA Water make up our Senior Leadership Team. They report directly to the Chief Executive, Roch Cheroux.
Chief Executive of SA Water
Roch is leading the transformation of South Australia’s largest water utility to embed technology, culture and systems changes to deliver improved experience for the corporation’s 1.6 million customers.
He is a key influencer in the water industry, with experience shaping and leading public and private corporations across the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. Roch is currently a director of the Water Services Association of Australia, and member of the Australian Government’s Australian Water Partnership Advisory Committee.
A dual French and Australian citizen, Roch holds formal qualifications in Engineering and Business Management. Prior to joining SA Water, he was Chief Executive Officer of SUEZ for the South East Asia region and SUEZ-Degrémont Australia and New Zealand, Managing Director of United Utilities Asia and Pacific (TRILITY), and Chief Executive and Chairman of Tallinn Water in Estonia.

General Manager Asset, Operations and Delivery
Mark joined SA Water in 2013 and as our General Manager, Asset, Operations and Delivery he ensures we deliver safe clean drinking water and a dependable sewerage service across the state in the most efficient way.
Mark draws on his more than 30 years’ experience as a professional engineer and General Manager in infrastructure delivery, with specialist expertise in water and wastewater, to ensure we effectively operate, sustain and improve our built assets, bulk water, used water and laboratory services as well as deliver the corporation’s capital works program.
Mark has been involved in major projects and operated businesses in the water, transport, minerals, oil and gas, environment and building arena in Australia, South-East Asia, the Middle East, the UK and the USA. Prior to joining SA Water, Mark was Vice President Water with Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR).
General Manager of Business Services
Jamie was appointed General Manager, Business Services in September 2013 to drive improvements in underlying organisational performance and to lead the team delivering support services across our business: financial, procurement, pricing, information technology, engineering, research, water, used water and environmental expertise.
With a commitment to delivering world class water services by building efficient and effective functional and technical expertise across SA Water, Jamie has assisted the business in meeting the regulatory commitments that have delivered price reductions to customers.
As a member of our senior leadership team, Jamie draws on experience gained in Australia, the USA and the UK, where he’s worked as a Chartered Accountant in finance, governance, project management and risk management. Before joining SA Water, Jamie was BAE Systems Head of Finance, Maritime and prior to that the General Manager of the Henderson shipyard. He has previously worked for Santos, KPMG and the Australian Taxation Office.
General Manager of Communications and Engagement
Appointed as General Manager, Communications and Engagement in February 2017, Anna’s leadership across the business ensures we consult and engage with the communities we work in, and effectively communicate our activities with our 1.6 million South Australian customers.
Anna draws on her 25-plus years of stakeholder engagement and management experience with government and corporate organisations, and extensive skills as a journalist, marketing and communications specialist.
Anna holds formal qualifications in journalism and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Prior to joining our senior leadership team, Anna was General Manager for Business Development, Asia Pacific with Coffey International Development and prior to that Group Marketing and Communications Director, oversighting US, UK and Asia Pacific operations.
General Manager of Strategy, Performance & Innovation
Jim joined SA Water in 2011 and in November 2016 was appointed General Manager, Strategy, Performance and Innovation leading strategy development and the frameworks to drive performance, foster innovation and ensure our ways of working are simple, aligned and continuously improved for the benefit of our customers.
In guiding our pursuit of world class water services every day, Jim has led delivery of a business strategy re set, reprioritised focus areas with his team now actively enabling capability and performance building. Business development is also within Jim’s area of responsibility, including his leadership of the Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme.
As a member of our senior leadership team Jim draws on experience gained from public and private organisations in roles spanning multiple sectors including water, energy, banking, procurement and consulting. Jim holds formal qualifications in Economics and Accounting with his professional leadership in Procurement recognised through his Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
General Manager of Customer Delivery
Kerry joined SA Water in 2004 and worked across many parts of the business ahead of being appointed to lead the delivery of services to our customers in July 2013. In the role of General Manager, Customer Delivery, Kerry has responsibility for water and sewerage service connections, metering and customer billing, customer account and service enquiries, as well as management of service continuity and restoration.
With a commitment to delivering service excellence, Kerry continues to champion customer centred design and digitisation for customer benefit. She is also Chair of the Water Services Association of Australia’s Customers and Community Network and member of the Customer and Leadership Board Committee.
As a member of our senior leadership team Kerry draws on her formal qualifications in business and commerce as well as more than 20 years’ experience gained from senior commercial, customer interfacing positions with organisations including Kimberly Clark Australia and Faulding Pharmaceutical.
General Manager of Governance and Regulation
Anne was appointed General Manager Governance and Regulation in December 2016 to lead independent governance across our business including legal advice, compliance management, insurance, internal audit, risk management, secretariat support to the Board and executive, as well as the interface with all of our regulators.
Committed to ensuring we are accountable to our customers, stakeholders and the South Australian community, Anne makes sure our corporate governance is sound and that we understand our regulatory responsibilities.
Anne holds formal qualifications in Economics and Business and draws on more than 30 years’ experience in public policy, legislative reform and government administration having held senior public sector positions across agriculture, transport and central government.
