Food and Beverage - 90 Day Project Outcomes

Food and Beverage - 90 Day Project Outcomes

The growth of South Australia's food and beverage industry is an economic priority. The state's gross food and wine revenue reached a record $17.1 billion in 2013-14. In 2015, key government agencies joined industry representatives to discuss future opportunities. We developed recommendations to improve trade waste outcomes for the industry.

The project’s aim was to ensure our trade waste services:

  • Are cost competitive when compared to other states.
  • Result in economically efficient outcomes for all parties.
  • Reflect best practice management, from the source of waste generation through to end treatment.
  • Are clearly communicated to customers.
  • Investigate possible introduction of assistance packages as the industry adapts to trade waste requirements.
