Independent Review

Independent Review

An independent review commissioned by the Board into our asset management and operation of water mains measured our performance against international leading practice and identified improvement opportunities to benefit our customers.
Installing smart sensor technology on arterial roads, changing management structures within the Adelaide metropolitan alliance, and working with regulators to shape new service performance standards, are among the key initiatives we are already implementing.
The review was conducted by international asset management consultancy AMCL and assessed 24 business processes that contribute to the management of water mains. Of these:
  • seven were found to be international leading practice
  • 15 aligned with industry peers nationally and internationally
  • two areas can be improved.
Overall, the results show our water mains management is good and we are delivering reliable services for customer, with opportunities for us to improve, particularly as technology enables us to change the way we work.

We’re improving your services and undertaking maintenance work in Magill. Sometimes our crews need to temporarily interrupt the water supply to our customers and/or manage traffic while they are working. Temporary traffic management may remain in place until reinstatement of the impacted road is complete. We always aim to minimise inconvenience by restoring services as safely and quickly as we can.
