Gawler West Wastewater Network Upgrade Works

Gawler West Wastewater Network Upgrade Works

What is the project?

We recently undertook investigative works to address odour issues associated with the local wastewater network.

Following our investigative works we are to upgrade the wastewater network at the intersection of Ryde St, Dean St, Gosford St, Barnet Rd and Overway Bridge Rd.

The works will involve installation of new gravity mains, pumping mains, inspections holes, decommissioning of some existing mains and the installation of odour control infrastructure on Barnet Rd.

Why is it important?

This work will improve the odour and overall performance of the network in the wider area.

What can I expect?

The majority of construction work will take place from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, however some nightworks may be required towards the end of our program.

During work hours those closest our site may notice work crews in the area, and some temporary noise or dust associated with the works.

Please note due to the location of the works, during daily work hours we are required to close both Gosford and Dean Streets at the roundabout. Signposted diversions will be in place during this time.

All other traffic through the roundabout can be accommodated during work hours, however it is expected that there may be some delays passing through the area during peak commute times. As such, we will also have signposted diversions in place as an alternative option for drivers.

How long will it take?

Construction is scheduled to commence Monday 28 October and take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

Where can I go for more information?

Local residents and businesses will receive further notification about the works and required traffic management before construction starts.

We’re improving your services and undertaking maintenance work in Maitland. Sometimes our crews need to temporarily interrupt the water supply to our customers and/or manage traffic while they are working. Temporary traffic management may remain in place until reinstatement of the impacted road is complete. We always aim to minimise inconvenience by restoring services as safely and quickly as we can.
