What is the project?
We are upgrading infrastructure at our Hope Valley storage site. There will be two stages: network modification and tank works.
The storage site is commonly referred to as “Terminal Storage”. It has a capacity of 136 million litres. The site supplies water to over 100,000 customers across Adelaide.
As part of the project, noise mitigation works will also be undertaken in the south-east corner of our site.
Why is it important?
In order to ensure ongoing water supply from Hope Valley terminal storage, we need to ensure tank integrity.
Before we can start work, we will need to make modifications to allow the tank to be taken offline while we complete the tank works.
These works will ensure there is no disruption to your water supply.
What can I expect?
SA Water is committed to keeping construction impacts to a minimum.
However during construction there may be work crews in the area and some noise and dust associated with the works.
Some on-site vegetation may also have to be removed to accommodate construction.
Anticipated hours of work are Monday to Saturday between 7am and 5pm. Works are not expected to take place on Sundays or Public Holidays.
How long will it take?
Stage 1 works are scheduled to begin mid-September and last until January 2017.
Stage 2 works are still in the planning stage but is anticipated to begin in February/March 2017. Local residents will be updated again closer to the start of Stage 2 works.
