Mount Gambier Bore Replacement

Mount Gambier Bore Replacement

What is the project?

Works to construct a new bore within our site on Lake Terrace East, Mt Gambier are currently underway. The project also includes works to remove the existing bore on site. The existing bore is nearing the end of its asset life and replacing it will ensure the ongoing security of backup supply for our customers.

Similarly, SA Water is in the process of undertaking works to construct a new bore within our site on Wehl St North, Mt Gambier. Site preparation works have commenced. The construction of the new bore is anticipated to commence in April 2018 and take 6 weeks to complete.

What can I expect?

Initial drilling will mostly be undertaken Monday-Sunday, 7am-6pm.

The remainder of the works will see the decommissioning of the existing bores on both sites and are anticipated to be undertaken at some time in 2018.

Those nearest our works may experience some temporary construction noise and vibration throughout construction. Some vegetation removal within our site may be required to accommodate the required drilling rig equipment.
