Barossa Reservoir Amenity Upgrade

Barossa Reservoir Amenity Upgrade

SA Water is currently undertaking a series of amenity upgrades at the Barossa Reservoir (Whispering Wall).

The Barossa Reservoir is a major tourist attraction, well known for its acoustic properties. It is by far, the most popular of all the publically gazetted SA Water sites. It has extremely high local and tourist visitation counts, and is often cited as one of the top ten tourist sites in the Mount Lofty Ranges. The site is gazetted as open to the public during business hours, 7 days a week, 364 days of the year (excluding Christmas day).

The Barossa public area comprises a car park, look out, picnic grounds, toilet block, shelter, open air museum, monuments and interpretative materials.

What is the project?

To enhance the public amenities provided by SA Water and the overall site experience, SA Water is currently undertaking upgrades to the existing toilet block, repairing a section of the entrance driveway and upgrading some fencing. The works are expected to be completed by July 2016.

What can I expect?

Temporary toilets are available to visitors while the construction works are underway. The Barossa Reservoir will remain open to the public during regular business hours for the duration of the works. However, some minor disruption to traffic and car parking may occur at select times.
