The Port Lincoln Wastewater Network (WWN) currently consists of 143 kilometres (kms) of sewer pipelines and 20 sewer pumping stations that transport waste to our Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at Billy Lights Point. Growth in the Port Lincoln catchment has led to an increased demand on the WWN and WWTP.
As part of SA Water’s ongoing commitment to support future residential and industry growth, we are upgrading a section of the local sewer network around Port Lincoln Marina.
The works will involve the installation of approximately 4kms of additional sewer main from Wingard Terrace, along Marina Drive and St Andrews Drive, connecting to the Port Lincoln Wastewater Treatment Plant at Billy Lights Point.
S.E.M Utilities Pty Ltd has been engaged to undertake the works in conjunction with local sub-contractors. Construction of the new sewer main commenced May 2018 and is anticipated to be complete by October 2018 (subject to weather conditions). Standard construction hours are Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6pm, however some work outside these hours may be required at certain times during the works.
We work closely with our contractors to minimise construction impacts to the community, however residents in the area may notice heavy vehicles, noise from machinery and potential dust or mud from excavation. If access to your property is affected or night works are required at any stage, prior notice from our contractor will be provided.
To ensure the safety of the crew and the community, traffic management will be required and may include temporary lane restrictions and or detours during the construction phase.
We will continue to keep you updated on the schedule of works as the project progresses. If you would like to discuss this project further, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 950 or by email to email@example.com.
