Port Pirie Wastewater Network Odour Management

Port Pirie Wastewater Network Odour Management

About the project

In 2018 SA Water undertook a series of investigative works to address odour issues arising from the wastewater network in areas of Port Pirie.

Following our investigative works SA Water is now working to construct two new dosing pump stations at our sites on Third St, Port Pirie West and Parks St, Solomontown.

The new dosing pump stations are to be contained within a new pre-fabricated concrete hut, about 2.5 metres tall, and will help treat odours originating from the local wastewater network.

Expectations and timeline

Works are scheduled to commence from January 2019 and are anticipated to be completed within three months. This timeframe may change in the event of technical constraints.

Construction work will take place from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, however some Saturday work may be scheduled.

SA Water and its contractors are committed to keeping construction impacts to a minimum. However during construction local residents may notice work crews in the area, and some temporary noise, dust or odour associated with the works.

More information

Local residents and businesses will receive further notification about the works before construction starts.
