Free drinking water for community events

Our Quench Benches are one of the simplest ways to offer drinking water at your community event. They are available in metropolitan Adelaide, Riverland, Yorke Peninsula and Port Lincoln for community events lasting at least 5 hours and expecting more than 1,000 attendees - and they are free of charge.

The Quench Bench is a trailer fitted with 6 water spouts, 3 on each side. It requires access to the mains water supply and our team will install it before your event.

For events in metropolitan Adelaide with between 500 and 1,000 attendees, we may be able to provide a water fountain.

Site requirements

To use our Quench Benches or water fountains, your event must run for a minimum of 5 hours and the site must have:

  • a flat site for its location (preferably grass)
  • space for the Quench Bench, which is 5m long x 3m high x 2.5m wide
  • space for one or more portable water fountains, which are 0.5m long x 1.3m high x 0.23m wide
  • a drive-through site, as the trailer can't be reversed or moved by hand
  • access to an SA Water drinking water mains connection point within 5 metres of the Quench Bench or water fountain location (please note purple pipes are NOT drinking water)
  • an event manager to help with directions, parking, and set up and pack down (preferably during business hours).

We may need to conduct a site audit before your event to ensure your drinking water network connection point and site access meet our requirements. Your event manager will need to be onsite for this audit.

How to book

To apply for a Quench bench or water fountain, please complete the Quench Bench and water fountain application form at least 3 weeks before the event. All booking requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability.
