Pro-disclosure

Transparency is an important part of how we conduct business. In the interest of promoting that transparency, SA Water actively discloses the information you will find below. Dividends and Community Service Obligations

Each year, we pay dividends to the State Government. We also receive payments known as Community Service Obligations (CSOs).

We must pay dividends under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1993. Dividends are currently worked out on 95% of our after-tax profit. This is set by the government's Financial Ownership Framework for Public Non-Financial Corporations.

We are paid Community Service Obligations (CSOs) for the services we have to provide, but which are not for profit. The majority of the payment is for providing water services in country areas at metropolitan water prices. We don't charge the full cost of providing those services.
